The Consortium Code of Conduct v1.6



The CONSORTIUM wishes to be seen as a respectable and professional organization within the MMORPG Community. This will in turn allow The CONSORTIUM to generate a good reputation and positive image amongst the many players of the MMORPG's we choose to play.

As a Crafting and Trading focused Guild, our reputation will be ‘everything’ in a MMORPG economy, and trading on that reputation will add definable business value and profit to the bottom line.

Therefore it is essential that all members of The CONSORTIUM understand that they have a responsibility to conduct their themselves in a professional manner. The same approach to business should also be carried through to any personal interactions that members may be involved in, that are ‘visible’ to the MMORPG environment in general.

 

1. The CONSORTIUM Code of Conduct is as follows:


Terms:
ECC = Executive Controlling Committee; the elected governing body of The CONSORTIUM.
CoC = This Code of Conduct.
EULA = End User License Agreement; the vendor provided legal terms to which you must agree before playing certain games.
SWG = Star Wars Galaxies; an online role-playing game.
V:SOH = Vanguard: Saga of Hero's
SOE = Sony Online Entertainment; creator/vendor of SWG.


1.1 Members shall be courteous and respectful to all other members of the CONSORTIUM at all times, regardless of the forum.

1.2 All CONSORTIUM members shall conduct themselves respectfully and decently when representing The CONSORTIUM in all forums and in-game.

1.3 Flaming or offensive behavior in any CONSORTIUM or General MMORPG forum, including in-game behavior, will not be tolerated and may result in immediate disciplinary action.

1.4 'd00d' or 'l33t' speak are not acceptable forms of conversation or communication, and shall not be used in any official CONSORTIUM forum except in the context of light humor.

1.5 Members shall stridently attempt to meet all business deadlines and/or timeframes for the completion of CONSORTIUM assigned tasks.

1.6 Members shall endeavor to use the Forum Secure Channel for 'sensitive' or potentially 'inflammatory' subject posts.

1.7 The use of foul language or unsavory comments in any CONSORTIUM forum shall be kept to an ABSOLUTE minimum. The continued use of foul language or unsavory comments in any General MMORPG forum or in-game will not be tolerated, and may result in disciplinary action.

1.8 Spamming/Flooding of any CONSORTIUM, General MMORPG forum or in-game by CONSORTIUM members will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action.

1.9 Any other offensive behavior that the CEO and/or ECC deem as inappropriate will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action.

1.10 When the Code of Conduct/Disciplinary Process is updated a message will appear in The CONSORTIUM Info Channel. It is the responsibility of every member to ensure they are familiar and in agreement with the latest version.

1.11 Any CONSORTIUM member that holds membership to any other recognized MMORPG Guild shall declare this information to the CEO and/or ECC in writing as soon as possible. Failure to do so may be taken as an act of espionage and may result in immediate disciplinary action upon discovery.

1.12 Any posting of confidential CONSORTIUM material to any public Forum or web site is strictly forbidden, and may result in immediate disciplinary action. Unless otherwise indicated, confidential CONSORTIUM material shall be considered to be official email/in-game gmails, anything that falls outside of the public areas of our website or within in-game Guild Chat.

1.13 Members will be expected to abide by the appropriatel MMORPG rules of conduct, found here: Policies EULA. Failure to do so may be reported immediately to the appropriate point of contact and may result in disciplinary action.

2. The CONSORTIUM Disciplinary Process is as follows:

2.1 It is the responsibility of the complainant to report any Code of Conduct violation they feel warrants disciplinary action to an Officer of the ECC or CEO. The complaint will be recorded and a record of all complaints and adjudications will be kept..

2.2 For any offense determined to warrant disciplinary action, the offending member will be contacted in writing, and alerted to the offense in question. That member will have the opportunity to present mitigating information concerning the offense at that time.

2.3 In the first instance, an ECC Officer may issue reprimand at their discretion. This in no way implies that actions cannot be conducted under para. 2.5 below if so warranted.

2.4 On subsequent instances, a formal written warning will be issued. This in no way implies that actions cannot be conducted under para. 2.5 below if so warranted.

2.5 If the behavior is serious enough that the CEO or ECC believe it warrants action, that member may be subject to one or more of the following punishments as decided upon by the CEO and ECC:

2.5.1 Member may be directed to make reparations or restitution commensurate with the offense.

2.5.2 Reduction in member rank (i.e. from Respected Member to Member, or from Member to Prospect)

2.5.3 Removal from Office (if player holds an official position in TCON)

2.5.4 Total removal of TCON membership and all associated rights and privileges, including in-game association membership.

2.5.5 Any other punishment or action deemed appropriate by the ECC or CEO.

2.6 To further any investigation into breaches of the CoC, the CEO and the ECC shall conduct whatever investigatory actions as they see fit; shall convene whatever meetings or special chat events or forum threads as they see fit; and shall meet to allow the CEO final review and adjudication of any evidence presented.

2.7 The CEO has the final authority for application and execution of punishment(s) under para 2.5 above.
